Koi breeding originated in Japan.
These carps are very hardy fishes.
The wonderful characteristic of the Koi is that
they are able to recognize the person who feeds them
and gather around him during feeding times.
They can be trained to take food from ones hand.
Koi can live to about 30-40yrs.
Therefore, they make wonderful pets.
